Description
I’ve been doing therapy indoors my whole career. And it works, don’t get me wrong. But something started to bother me. My clients were making real progress in the office, then walking out into a world that was constantly pulling them back toward stress, disconnection, and overwhelm. I kept thinking: what if the environment itself could be part of the healing?
That question led me to nature-informed therapy. And what I found changed how I think about mental health entirely.
Nature-informed therapy isn’t about hiking instead of going to therapy. It’s about understanding the deep, evidence-based relationship between the natural world and the human nervous system — and learning how to use that relationship deliberately to improve your mental health, your resilience, and your daily life.
Starting April 1st, I’m bringing this work to Green Bay for the first time through a 4-part hybrid lecture series running every other Wednesday through May 6th. Each session is 90 minutes — part education, part conversation, part experience. We meet in person at the LIVELife Leadership conference room or via Teams, and on the alternating Wednesdays we take it outside with a free group hike to put the concepts into practice.
What we cover across the four sessions:
Session 1 — What nature does to your nervous system. The science behind why the outdoors affects how you feel, think, and heal. This isn’t soft — it’s neuroscience.
Session 2 — Attention restoration and stress recovery. Why nature is one of the most powerful antidotes to burnout, anxiety, and mental fatigue — and how to access it intentionally even in the middle of a busy life.
Session 3 — Nature and trauma. How outdoor environments support trauma processing and nervous system regulation in ways that traditional indoor therapy sometimes can’t reach.
Session 4 — Building your nature-informed life. How to take everything from the series and integrate it into your daily routine — whether you live near a trailhead or a parking lot.
The format: Interactive seminars — not lectures you sit through. You’ll leave each session with something you can actually use. The group hikes on alternating Wednesdays are free and open to all participants — they’re where the concepts come alive.
The cost: Contribute what you feel. I designed this series to be accessible to anyone who wants to show up. If you get value from it, pay what reflects that. If you’re going through a hard time financially, come anyway.
When: April 1st – May 6th, 2026. Every other Wednesday. 6:00–7:30 PM.
Where: LIVELife Leadership, 1234 Main Street, Green Bay, WI — or via Microsoft Teams. Group hikes meet at a designated trailhead communicated to registered participants.
Spots are limited. This is a small, intentional group — not a webinar with 200 people in a waiting room. Register to hold your spot.
